If you are new here, we hope you join us! This year, we are focusing on finding the good in the little things every day. In collaboration with Monday Mugshots, we’re celebrating life at in all it’s imperfect glory, and allowing our change in focus to help improve our outlook on LIFE!! You can read more about this year’s philosophy HERE. This year’s prompts are less “arty” than they have been in past years, but you are welcome to create art beyond the photography in our prompts if you are feeling like it! Either way, we’d love to have you share with us!
A steamy shower in a frosty bathroom.
Think it over… seeing that steam coming up from the shower water as it falls out of the faucet… the feeling of that hot water hitting your goosebumps. Spinning around and around until all the chill is gone, and your skin is a little too hot. Pink patches of skin on your shoulders where you’ve let the water run… it’s good. Let’s focus on that.
Below, you’ll see what your hosts have come up with for this prompt.
My bathroom is a HOT MESS right now… and I was seriously considering cleaning my shower just for this shot. (I mean, I only considered it for a SECOND… but the thought crossed my mind. Crayzie, I know.) Then I realized that this was EXACTLY what I wanted to share with all of you!! The idea that even in the midst of a day full of dirty laundry… or heartache… or whatever is making you feel like you CAN’T… or that before you share, you need to make it “pretty” or that you have to wait until it’s “enough”. That is the thing that you can use to your advantage! So I shot a photo of my messy bathroom, beside my shower curtain, and reminded myself, that even in that mess… there really IS something amazeballs about a hot steamy shower on a frosty morning.
I decided not to use the given prompt for this Monday, rather start my January with one of my favorite quotes of all times. For a variety of reasons, winter is not my preferred season on a physical, mental & spiritual level. So I’m constantly looking for ways to be positive during this period of grey skies… internally & externally. This is one of those quotes…along with some Ginger tea in my sunny mug… that helps me stay positive.
Even though the facebook page is called Monday Mugshots, I would like to encourage you to share your photos ANY DAY OF THE WEEK on Monday Mugshots and Instagram. (If you share on Monday Mugshots, please be sure there is a mug or drinking vessel in your photo.) Share as many times as you’d like, bits of good you see/find in your life… don’t be limited by posting twice a month, or even weekly on Monday Mugshots!
#MondayMugshots wherever you are posting.
